Our Debate Format
The whole concept behind this website is the introduction of a new format in which we can communicate. Social media is ruled by the "Post - Comment" format. Here I would like to introduce a new format. I call it the "Argument - Counterargument" format.
Argument | Counterargument |
---|
You can do one of two things: (i) You can post an "argument" which is either for or against the topic of the page (ii) You can post a "counterargument" to the argument which has been posted.
Now, people posting arguments and counterarguments on a social media is nothing new. What makes debatewala unique is that here that spaces are reversed for the two categories of people: (i) People who are 'for' the topic (ii) People who are 'against' the topic
This is a platform where both sides of people can bring forward their best arguments, without fear of being suppressed by the other side. If you are in the 'for' team, you can't edit any arguments posted by the 'against' team. You can only provide your counterargument against the same.
Here we are aiming to have a platform where people don't get trolled, instead their best arguments are countered with the best arguments of the other side. These are presented side-by-side on a single page which is visible to everyone; so they can read both sides of the argument and make up their minds.
There will be four sections in each page:
(sections to be described later)
